Mohammed Kanakri is a Project Architect at maisam architects & engineers, Amman. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Jordan University of Science & Technology in 2005, and is Master’s degree from the same university in 2015. His master’s thesis tackled the interchangeable influence of video game and architectural design processes through exploring the role of architecture in video game design.
With 11 years of experience, Kanakri has worked on various Architectural, interior and urban design projects locally and internationally in various firms such as 2K architects & Engineers, Rubicon Group Holding and APEC construction managers. In addition to Architecture, Kanakri is an active member of the e-gaming culture and a game tester for Blizzard Entertainment for both alpha and beta stages. In 2010, Kanakri co-founded the JeGF “Jordan e-Gaming Federation” which marked the launch of the e-Gaming scene in Jordan and the region, the federation acts as the regional hub of the international entities to promote the e-Gaming culture in Jordan and the region.
As a result of his initiatives, academic research and professional experience in both architectural and gaming fields, Kanakri is actively pursuing scenarios where the two fields can meet and benefit each other. A most recent example is his work to use the gaming engine “Cry” as a design/presentation tool in architectural projects.
